Parking Technology for New Parking Garage Construction
Building a parking garage, parking structure or car park? Kyosis supplies the parking technology package — automated parking guidance, parking access and revenue control, LPR cameras, barrier gates, overhead doors and EV chargers — and works with your project team from design through turnover, with installation oversight and ongoing service once the owner takes over.
Where we fit in your parking garage project
Parking technology touches the structure, the electrical scope and the schedule. Planning it early keeps it off the critical path and out of change orders.
In the drawings and the budget
Equipment layouts, lane configurations, sign and sensor locations, and budget pricing for the parking technology scope.
Specs and submittals
Support for the parking control equipment section of the project specifications (CSI MasterFormat 11 12 00) and for overhead doors, with product data for submittals.
Pathway, sleeves and embeds
Conduit pathway, sleeves, loop and bollard locations, and power and data at every lane, coordinated before slabs are poured or precast is set.
Lead times on your schedule
Gates, pay stations, signs and sensors ordered against the construction schedule, so equipment arrives when the electrical rough-in is ready.
Installation oversight
Coordination with your electrical subcontractor and field team, with Kyosis overseeing equipment installation and configuration.
Commissioning and training
Counts, gates, LPR and payments tested end to end, owner and operator training, and close-out documents for the turnover package.
Why it matters to the owner: parking is hospitality
The parking structure you build is the first and last thing every tenant, patient, student or shopper experiences at the property. Owners increasingly judge a garage by how it feels to park in, not only by its space count: guidance to an open space, ticketless entry, a quick exit. Planning the parking technology during construction makes that experience possible on opening day, without cutting into finished concrete later.
What we need to price a parking garage package
- Level plans or the parking layout, with the space count per level
- Number and location of entry and exit lanes
- How the owner will operate it: public paid, permit or monthly, validated, or free
- Electrical room and power locations, if known
- Construction schedule and target turnover date
Parking garage construction: common questions
When should a general contractor bring in a parking technology supplier?
During design development, or at the latest before the slabs are poured. Conduit pathway, sleeves and embeds for loops and bollards cost little to place during construction and a great deal to add once the concrete is finished.
What parking technology does a new parking structure usually need?
Most new garages need parking access and revenue control at the lanes (barrier gates, ticket or credential readers, pay stations), occupancy counting or an automated parking guidance system, entrance and level signage, LPR cameras, and often overhead doors and EV chargers. The right mix depends on how the owner plans to operate the garage.
How does Kyosis work with our electrical subcontractor?
We provide the rough-in requirements — conduit, power and data at each device location — and coordinate with your electrical subcontractor through the build, with Kyosis overseeing equipment installation, configuration and commissioning.
Who services the parking equipment after turnover?
Kyosis offers warranty support and ongoing service and maintenance agreements to the owner or operator after turnover, so the parking technology keeps working long after the project closes out.
